For first time clients, chartering a jet can be a daunting experience as there are so many options. Our role at G6 AVIATION is to advise you of the best aircraft type and operators, once we know the requirements of the journey.

What do we need to know?

  1. Departure point

  2. Destination

  3. Number of passengers

There may be individual preferences that we will need to consider:

  • Wi-Fi

  • Luggage

  • Stand-up cabin

  • Flight Attendant

  • Dining & beverage

  • Multimedia

  • Smoking

  • Pets

What happens next?

Our team will then reach out to our preferred operator network and filter the best options, based upon the journey and client preferences. You will then receive a personalised Charter Request document detailing the journey, the charter aircraft options, and terms and conditions.

There are nine main categories of charter aircraft that our team select from. We have listed each category explaining the main differences available from G6 AVIATION.

Turbo Props are the most economical way to travel with up to eight passengers on short journeys. The versatility of a turbo prop enables you to reach destinations that can’t be accessed by a private jet, which really sets them apart!

For example, a King Air 200 has a short runway capability; it doesn’t require a full-length runway for landing and take-off and can even land on remote grass strips. It has a typical range of 1,800 nautical miles, will cruise around 333mph, with a comfortable cabin. Although the King Air 200 is slower than its jet counterparts, over a short journey the time savings are negligible, however it has a huge appeal because they are economical.

These are the smallest jets in the private charter hire fleet and are also known as Compact Light Jets. They can be flown for up to 3 hours and are the most versatile charter jets available. Perfect for brief flights, they can be used on shorter runways and therefore can land in areas normally inaccessible to larger planes.

Carrying 4/5 passengers and an average luggage allowance they offer very good value for money when hiring a private jet in the UK.

Popular types include Cessna’s Citation Mustang, Embraer Phenom 100, and a HondaJet HA 420 as seen below.

This type of flight charter jet can accommodate up to 8 passengers and can operate up to 3 hours, making it popular with business and leisure travellers flying intercontinental.

Similar to the VLJs they can access shorter runways at small airports, reducing boarding and off-loading times at larger airports.

Personal anonymity can be maintained more easily at a smaller airport and are also more COVID secure.

A Citation Mustang 2 can easily carry 5 passengers comfortably, or the Nextant 400XT (as shown below) can carry 6 passengers from London to Faro as seen below.

This range of aircraft offers much more than it's smaller counterparts. They offer a very spacious & comfortable cabin, capable of seating up to 9 people (depending on the cabin configuration) and in some cases can offer a larger luggage storage.

Once again, they can land on small airstrips or runways thus avoiding the larger airports and the restraints that come with them.

Two jets worthy of note are the Embraer Phenom 300 which offer more head, leg, and elbow room (shown below), also the Citation XLS which can seat up to 8 people and boasts a cabin height of 1.73m.

This is the ideal size of jet for those discerning passengers looking for more in terms of in-flight comfort and facilities, and greater versatility of destination. Mid-size charter jets provide a bigger cabin and a greater luggage allowance and have more headroom with full standing capability.

They can accommodate up to 10 passengers and can fly up to 5 hours, thus offering greater intercontinental opportunities on medium haul journeys. Many come equipped with shower facilities, a galley and fold-down divans. There is also enough room for a Flight Attendant.

Wi-Fi and phone services are available making these planes the ideal place to keep in touch whilst travelling.

The midsize jets, whilst offering greater flexibility in terms of space are also more cost efficient to operate than the Heavy Jets.

Noteworthy models are the Gulfstream 100 (as shown below), Cessna Citation Latitude and Learjet 60.

This range of aircraft can, of course, outfly all the smaller types, offering up to 7 hours of flying time, covering an average of 3,500 miles.

They provide large cabins (with standing room), enclosed toilet facilities and a service galley with Flight Attendant.

They offer added luxury in terms of cabin comfort and facilities. Enhanced avionics also make for a quieter flight, with greater speed and range.

The Gulfstream 250, and Cessna Citation Sovereign (shown below) are premier choices in this class.

The heavy jets offer the ultimate luxury for the private jet charter travel.

10 passengers or more can enjoy luxurious seating with tables, dedicated sleeping areas, opulent bathrooms and, of course, Wi-fi and phone services.

These jets can accommodate two Flight Attendants to provide first-class catering whilst still maintaining specific entertainment areas.

Offering up to 9 hours of flying time, these jets have a range of 4,000 miles.

Bombardier Challenger 605, Gulfstream 450 (as shown below) and Dassault Falcon 900 are a few top-of-the-line models in this class.

If you are looking to charter a private jet for long-haul flights - this is the one for you. It offers flying distances of up to 6,500 miles, whilst providing a luxurious flight experience.

Generously appointed cabins offer dedicated areas for dining, working, sleeping, bathing and entertainment. You will have a relaxed, comfortable flight arriving fresh at your destination enabling you to get on with your day.

If you are looking to charter an ultra-long-range jet, these are some of the top types: Gulfstream G600 (as shown below), Dassault Falcon 7X and Bombardier Global 6000.

These are the grandest jets in the private charter jet market.

Originally commercial aircraft, they are modified to provide clients with an interior to fit their personal requirements from cocktail lounges to en-suite showers, walk-in cupboards to conference rooms. Most requests can be accommodated. Flight Attendants provide VIP catering.

Flying capabilities are considerably increased and as these Jets can fly at much higher altitudes, they can cover greater distances; frequently 10 hours or more without a stopover.

Depending on how the aircraft is customized the BAe 146 VIP it can seat around up to 48 passengers in first-class comfort and pure elegance. Both Airbus and Boeing offer wide-body and narrow-body bizliners, such as Airbus ACJ380, Airbus ACJ319, Boeing B747-8 and Boeing BBJ.
